We are now enrolling students for the 2010-2011 school year. Please join us for another year of learning and fun!! We will be offering two classes: Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. and the cost will be $80.00 a month. We will also have a three day class from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. and the cost will be $120.00 a month. There is a $50 non-refundable registration fee and we follow the Gilbert Public Schools schedule. We are located in Gilbert, just north of Guadalupe and east of Cooper Road. All About Me

For the first week of preschool, we learned all about ourselves, our homes, and our families. We also did some letter A activities. Overall it was a great first week!

For St. Patrick's Day, we made Leprechaun Finders to help us catch a leprechaun. We recited the poem as we looked for it all over the house.
The leprechaun left green glitter and footprints where he had been.

Finally, we caught our leprechaun and kept him in a paper sack so that he would not escape. Wyatt found the pot of gold that he left, and everyone took some home. We had a pretty fun day.

Community Helpers

This past week, we learned about the different types of people that work in our community. On Wednesday, we had everyone dress as what they want to be when they grow up. It was so fun to see everyone all dressed up. Matthew dressed as a teacher.
Jett dressed as a Jamba Juice worker, and brought Jamba Juice for the entire class!
Leah was a pop star.
Shelby dressed up as a dancer.
Brianna was a music teacher.
Aiden was a firefighter.
Bailey dressed as a Ballerina.
Olivia was dressed as a Salsa Dancer.
We learned all about what a Mailman does. We made our own letters that will be sent to our houses. We also got to take home Mailman puppets.

On Friday, we made our own communities with buildings, roads, and cars. We had so much fun learning about Community Helpers.

Zoo Animals

During this unit, we learned all about animals that live at the Zoo. We had so much fun making zoo puppets and sugar cookies.

Music Time

The kids love to dance and sing! They each have their own music mat where they can show off their moves. Some of their favorite songs are Simeon Says, Hokey Pokey, and Pop Goes the Weasel.

Play Time

This is everyone's favorite part of the day. The kids all play together so well.

Centers

Each week, we break up into centers where the kids can practice letter recognition and sounds, reading short words, and fine motor skills.

Under the Sea

We made crabs to keep on the fridge . We used clothespins for the pinchers where the kids can display their artwork. They turned out so cute.

We had so much fun making our ocean in a bottle. We gathered sand from the backyard, added seashells, and then poured in water with blue food coloring. Our water turned out a little blue, but the kids still had fun making them.

For one of our acitvities, we read a story about a rainbow fish and then made our own rainbow fish. Everyone did such a great job!

Christmas Trees

We made Christmas trees using sugar cones, frosting, and candy. The kids loved this activity.

Our Gingerbread House

As a class, we made a gingerbread house. The kids had so much fun putting it together and decorating it. Here are a few pictures of our house in the making.

Thanksgiving

We had our Thanksgiving Unit the week before Thanksgiving. For one of our crafts we made Turkey centerpieces. They turned out so cute. All of the kids did such a great job on their turkeys.

We learned about the Pilgrims and Indians and made costumes. We then had our Thanksgiving feast with yummy sweet potatoes, turkey, fruit, and pumkin pie.

Bugs! Bugs! Bugs!

During our bug unit, we learned all about different types of bugs and their characteristics. We
even went on a bug hunt to try to find bugs in our own backyard. Each of the kids had their own bug catchers.

The hunt was on! We looked under bushes and trees to find any kind of bug.

Our hunt was looking unsuccessful, so we decided to hide some plastic bugs for them to find.

We were sad that no real bugs were found, but satisfied with the plastic ones. It was a pretty fun day.

Party Time!

Everyone dressed up for our Halloween party. It was so fun to see everyone's adorable costumes.
This was taken on Wednesday. Leah and Bailey were almost matching. We just had to take a picture.

We carved a pumpkin and counted the seeds.

We played a variey of games including a bean bag toss and pin the nose on the pumpkin.

We ended the party with cupcakes. Everyone got to frost and decorate their own Halloween cupcakes.

Mateo and Tristan wore matching Iron Man costumes.

Getting Into the Halloween Spirit

We had fun making bats out of construction paper and pom poms.

We added a face to our pumpkins to make jack-o-lanterns. We laminated them and made them into placemats.

We played a fun game called letter swat. We gave two kids a fly swatter and told them a letter. The first one to swat the correct letter with thier fly swatter was the winner. We played this a few times. They loved it.

Falling Into Fall

One of our favorite crafts this week was the leaf imprints. We made some clay, and then pressed a leaf into it to make an imprint. We then painted our imprint with watercolor paint. We had a great time.
We made some scarecrow file folders with the letters A-M. The kids each took home a baggie of letters to practice matching on the scarecrow at home.

We traced some leaves, and the kids used watercolor paints to make their leaves colorful and unique.

Transportation

Last week, we learned about transportation. We discussed ways that we get from one place to another. The kids made a collage of vehicles that go on the road. They enjoy learning new things!
Our favorite project this week was making trucks out of graham crackers, cheerios, frosting, and peanut butter cookies. They love to make anything that involves food!

Tristan's Birthday!

Leah's Birthday!

Leah had her 4th birthday on Wednesday. We played some games and ate cupcakes to celebrate. She even got to wear the special birthday hat! Doesn't she look cute?

Friendship

For friendship week, we made friendship wreaths. Each student painted 8 of their own handprints and shared one with each friend in the class. We had so much fun sharing our artwork with our friends!
